Dr. Kibel diagnosed and performed a radical prostatecomy using the DaVinci robot. He was very caring and explained the cancer I had and treatments available. After careful consideration Dr. Kibel performed the surgery in less than a month after the biopsy results showed an aggressive cancer was present that was confirmed by a prostate MRI. Dr Kibel was all over this and very aggressive in treatment that avoided the spread of the disease outside the prostate. I high nothing but the highest regards for Dr. Kibel and his staff at BWH in Boston. His professionalism, bed side manner and personality are impeccable! Great person that probably saved me from a very long and painful road.

Dr. explained procedure and options available to me in layman terms. He was very competent and the information afforded me was exactly what happened in the operating room. Surgical team was informative and wow! did they do a great job. Dr. Kible before and after surgery bothered to be available and his bedside manner was considerate and caring. I would highly recommened him as a surgeon and his awesome surgical team.

An experienced surgeon that pays no attention to physiological (pelvic floor spasms for three weeks) and psychological aspects of surgery. Having waited for five days for a call back, it was hurried and on his car phone. (Monday I had left a message, Friday after 5 I has a call back). When giving me the results of the surgery biopsy ( from his mobile phone) when I said I did not hear him, he shouted that I still had cancer. (I did not hear him because reception from his mobile phine was bad.) When meeting in person after surgery, he said that I had caused him more interactions that most of his patients. I said I had wanted to find our more information and gain knowledge about the surgery to which he did not reply. His support staff did not prepare me adequately for the ramifications of the surgery. They were hurried and uninformative. His personal assistant took two days to respond to a voice mail and another three before I was able to talk directily to the physician. They are too busy and too familiar with their work that they do not have a perspective from a patient, who is going through this for the first time with great fear. Support staff and after care did not care. Once you signed up for surgery you were not meant to ask questions or question what was done to gain knowledge. It was only after seeking physical therapy that I determined I had spasming of my pelvic floor which caused considerable pain for over three weeks. The Dr with an anal exam unwittingly massaged the pelvic floor after I said I felt I has a soccer ball against my colon. He did not acknowledge that there was a problem and told me everything was fine. It was not. I apologies that I asked a lot of questions because I wanted to make sure that I did not regret the decision, I needed a full understanding. Before surgery he said that was fine, after surgery he told me that I took too much of his time. A very bad experience.
