Has a five star education, but my experience is that he forms judgments based on, what I believe, cover their butt academic peers...

I have been dealing with kidney stones for 33 years. Hes been practicing about 27 years. ( I believe?) Ive Been a patient of Dr Hay since about 2011. He does nothing to treat stones until theyre very large and blocking. Typically it took an ER visit first, in extreme pain before he would do anything Recently I had two 10mm stones on the left side. Plus several smaller stones on both sides. I was admitted in the hospital in extreme pain and bleeding. The following day he was going to release me. Doing nothing about the stones. After a conversation with my wife... He removed the two large stones leaving all of the smaller ones. Two months later I am having moderate pain on both sides related to these stones. Ive dropped Dr Hay as my Urologist. In my opinion, hes incompetent.

All I can say is be very proactive about your treatment. After detecting lump on my prostate did noting but wait a year at which time I had to demand a biopsy as he still did not want to perform one. Turned out I had an aggressive form of prostate cancer which could have been less troublesome if he had performed the biopsy when lump firs discovered. All I can say is that if he is your doctor be --very-- proactive.

I never actually saw Dr. Hay, only phone contact. My problem was a kidney stone. Dr. Hay seemed to think it was really funny that I was complaining of pain His advice was given in a giddy off-hand manner. I thought he must hate his patients or his job or both. Terrible experience. After the joshing about my painful kidney stone, I just wrote him off. Id never believe anything he told me.

Could not get the information I needed from him. He seemed indifferent. I thought he was a jerk. I found Dr. Long in Corvallis to be excellent.
