Decided to have a prostate resection. Chose Dr Berger based in part on his association with Keck Medical USC University Hospital. Many many problems and even more mistakes by USC University Hospital. Never saw Dr Berger on day of surgery either before or after my procedure. Then there were huge mistakes made at Keck USC University Hospital which will be reviewed separately. Dr Berger told me that I would be in hospital one possibly two days and then use a urinary catheter bag for a week. I ended up in the hospital for four days and had the catheter left on for two weeks. I had to call his office a few times because of excessive bleeding. First I was told it was normal so I requested that they review pictures, Upon seeing them they thought it may be too much bleeding. After two weeks I called and asked when I could get the bag out. I was told that Dr Berger was going on vacation and would only be in the next day to fill in for another doctor before he left, They didnt have room for me. I told them that it had been two weeks and I needed to have the catheter removed and they needed to get me in. I had it removed the next day and then proceeded to be extremely sick for two months with Infections and ended up in the local ER because I became incapacitated because of the infection. My brother just went through the same procedure in MN. One year after my surgery. Didnt need to flush the catheter every four hours, no excessive bleeding, one day in the hospital and catheter out in a week. Something went extremely wrong with my surgery and experience. USC University Hospital made even more grievous mistakes which I will explain in their review.
