I would recommend Dr. Konety if you have prostate cancer and need surgery. Dr. Konety was very pleasant and knowledgable and caring. My surgery went very well and with little pain except for the gas which went away once my bowels started working again. The follow up was fantastic by Dr. Konety and his staff. The urology department was with me every step of the way.

I have been a patient of Dr. Konety for about two years. I am so glad I went to him for a second opinion of my prostate cancer diagnosis. Dr. Konety is an excellent doctor who knows his business and deals in reality.
He takes all the time necessary to give you all the information you need and will answer your questions completely and you leave the office knowing you have all the facts and information to make any decisions regarding your treatment.
I know I made the right choice in a urologist when I came to Dr. Konety.

I went to him for a second opinion on my prostate cancer. I was leaning toward --watchful waiting-- as mine was the slow growing type and my regular urologist stated I would be impotent if I had the operation. Konety assured me otherwise and --sold-- me into it. I am now impotent AND incontinent. I was never told I would have a problem with being continent and he was very convincing and assuring when he told me of his skills and experience. He even joked about how they used to remove a nerve from your leg and use in to replace the nerve cut during the removal of the prostate, but when you scratch your leg, you get an erection - haha. To keep this short, I feel he had 3 goals for my surgery. To remove the cancer, to keep me continent and to maintain my sexual abilities. He failed on 2 out of 3. In school that is a failing grade.
