Always very nice, & eased our concerns. Wait time has always been minimal.

After seeing Dr. Rhee, I took my daughter for a second opinion at Lurie Children's in Chicago. The urologist there, Dr. Dennis Liu, offered a more thorough explanation of the plan to monitor her condition (VUR-Vesicouretal Reflux Grade 3-4). He let me know a few key things to watch for and when she would need to be seen by a doctor. These were things that I not was told when I visited Dr. Rhee. (For example: she needs to have a BM every day to prevent uti, and that if she has a fever more than 101, even for a day, she needs to see the pediatrician to see if she has a uti. He also lowered her antibiotic dose). The synopsis of my visit with Dr. Rhee was that this was not a big deal, and that they would watch her to see if she out grew it and see her in 6 months. Overall, a second opinion was very helpful.

Dr. Rhee is a great doctor, great with our son, but his staff is horrible. Wait time is awful, getting in to see him is super hard. They hardly want to help out with any questions. And the waiting room is dirty.

We have have Dr. Rhee from day one ! He was great at surgery but his bed side manner is awful! We had our son in the hospital for almost 3 weeks. Rhee would order test to be done and new medicine for our son without even talking to us! We come in the next morning and our sons on a new medicine that we were not notified by till he was already taking it. Horrible communication. We had a test ran and didn’t hear results at all. A day later we heard nothing. Waited heard nothing. Come to find out he had left out on a business trip and left us hanging. Very furious. We were told to go home our son had to use the bathroom without his catheter in. Used the bathroom within 20 min by himself. Still didn’t get to go home for 3 more days after. Nurses called Rhee and said, “ what do I tell these parents that we are still not sending home after there child has done what he was supposed to do” his response, “ just tell them there not going home” now what kind of response is that!! Someone please tell me you would flip if the surgeon handling your case was to tell you that. Meanwhile being there as long as we were we saw this surgeon a total of prolly 3 times, the other times he would just call or tell his nurses to communicate info to us. Anyway, that’s not good communication. Finally, got home. Have continued to come to appointments every month for ultrasounds it’s been okay, dosen’t spend much time in the room with you. Does not seem like he wants to give you the time of day to explain things to you in a way for you to understand. He says things seem to be be getting better and that transplant might be lesser of a chance if kidneys drain well. Come to find out talking with our sons actual doctor that transplant is not off the table even if thy are draining well and is actually a pretty high possibility. Very disappointed. Expect more out of a surgeon with “top experience” but we are greatful for the surgery he has done on our son just a week after he was born, just the bedside manner and communication could be 100 times better I think.

When the staff and doctor are both awful, you know you have issues. I have NEVER dealt with such rude staff. They would finish my sentences before I was even able to ask my question, cut me off in the middle of a sentence, and they acted as if my polite voice was the devil asking them to work (God forbid they have to work). I can look past rude staff for a good doctor. Typically, the staff affect my life very little, in fact. However, this doctor is horrible. I don't have enough characters to type the extent, but please, find yourself a better office to deal with your child's issues. My son had very minor bedwetting concerns and after MANY months, we are no better off and my son is in severe pain from the increased dose of LAXATIVES this doc insists on giving my son (don't worry, we reduced it). We are lucky our kids are pretty healthy, but we have still seen our fair share of physicians, and most are excellent. But overall, as an educated couple ourselves, my husband and I agree this doctor has no idea what he is talking about. Run. Fast.

Very rude, doesn't take time to explain diagnosis/procedure/risk factors, doesn't allow time for questions, and terrible bed side manners. Like the previous review, he spends less that 2 min with his patients. We had to switch to a different specialist to correct problems he caused. Wish I had read these reviews prior to consulting with him.
