I am experiencing my second round with kidney stones that are too large to pass. The first time was over 5 years ago and I had complete confidence in Dr. Sauerwein. So, round 2 will be entrusted to him as well. He is quite busy so wait times can be disappointing, I know, but he is an excellent urologist and I feel lucky to have him here in Idaho.

I have had several in office consults with Bjorn and find him easy to speak with. Performed TURP and was complication free. Excellent surgeon. As I was found to have prostate cancer after the TURP he is guiding me in deciding a course of treatmemt. Value his years of expertise.

After making us wait an hour (after my wife had already been prepped) in an uncomfortable room, Dr. Sauerwein finally performed the cystoscopy on my wife. In response to her wincing in pain during the procedure he said What? It hurts? Wow - you have a low pain threshold. Afterwords his diagnosis was no cancer, no tumors, nothing obvious. Just wait it out. I asked if the Valium she took beforehand would have any side effects the next day, he said not the next day. No explanation as to what the side effects could be. Bedside manner - couldnt be worse. Knowledge - he had no clue. Do NOT ever visit this doctor for any reason.

I am too overwhelmed to even write about how Dr. Sauerwein treated my husband. Just do yourself a favor and avoid, avoid, avoid this doctor.

Wow, Dr. Sauerwein is so unprofessional it's scary. I thought maybe I had caught this doctor on the worst day of his life, and maybe that had accounted for his behavior....but after speaking with others in Bozeman, I quickly realized my experience wasn't an anomaly. Sadly, he is known for forming opinions without gathering all the facts, not working hard for his patients, and very poor bedside manners. My friends doctor actually told her to go to Billings Clinic instead of seeing Dr. Sauerwein. Save yourself time, energy, and frustration- go find another urologist.
