Dr. Abernathy is not only a wonderful physician but he is also very kind, down to earth, and easy to talk to, makes an unpleasant procedure easier to go thru!!!

Be wary of this doctor who uses the Big --C-- to coerced patients to comply with their treatments, and begrudges them for objecting to his methodology. He is one that unapologetic (or insincerely doing so) when he makes mistakes. Hope this helps patients out there looking for a good doctor.

Every time I see this doctor for my annual checkup, I always walk away thinking --what an arrogant, little curmudgeon he is.-- After my last annual appointment I decided, even once a year is too frequent. Abernathy is most peculiar little doctor I have ever encountered. He belittles you when you ask questions, roles his eyes and makes demeaning facial gestures, and generally makes you feel uncomfortable. At this last appointment, he even disparaged my general physician. I sincerely implore any person wanting to see him to go elsewhere, even if he is recommedned and you think its only once a year. Trust me, once a year is too often for this doctor. He will leave you with the hee·bie-jee·bies that will last for weeks.

A bit too accustomed to being esteemed and successful; everything he does seems to have become rote. Gives the appearance of assuming everything fits the typical, repeated patterns hes seen so frequently in his vast experience -- he is reputedly exemplary in treating those. Hes a great doctor technically, and conveys accurate information, if you have a typical condition (even if challenging), as long as you dont want/need a real, personal conversation of any depth. For a very well-informed patient whos done thorough in-depth research on his own more-unusual condition, much of what you say seems to be treated as extraneous drivel, not pertinent to the diagnosis hes already reached. Doesnt convey any interest in or in-depth familiarity with latest research on unusual / emerging corner case conditions, unfamiliar territory -- is not of an exploratory / investigational turn of mind for an atypical history / case. If you have an unusual condition, this may not be your doctor, but otherwise, hes very well-regarded.
