Dr. Vassallo has a wonderful bedside manner and is extremely caring.

After successful surgery Ive had 3 follow up appointments which were easy and pain free. Dr. Vassallo is comfortable to work with and explained the surgery and follow up appointments. Recovery was smooth and I can lead an active life again.

I am so pleased with results of my surgery. The staff and Dr Vassallo were all very professional. I would recommend this office to family and friends.

After struggling for some time, Dr. Vassallo diagnosed my problem within minutes, was patient and explained all my treatment options and answered a myriad of questions. The treatment option I chose was an instant success. Sometime later, I developed another condition requiring surgery, which again Dr Vassallo was amazing as he answered both my husband and my questions and concerns as we considered his recommendations for treatment. I ended up having a rather extensive surgery which he was most competent. I ended up with some complications, not because of his technique and his follow up was so excellent. He is a very caring, conscientous physician.

I am 6 weeks post op for hysterectomy and bladder lift--Dr. Vassallo did a wonderful job on my surgeries, the most important aspect to me; he has great people skills as well, often not the case for a surgeon. My 30 year profession was calling on doctors and hospitals selling hi tech medical capital equipment; so have a finely tuned antenna for physicians. This one is a winner.

I am pleased with the experience I have had with Dr. Vassallo and his entire staff. I was always well informed of the procedures before surgery and after. The staff did a great job of making me feel very comfortable with the exams and procedures I was having. Dr Vassallo is a excellent surgeon and a very kind man. The office staff is also great.

With much embarrassment, I sought out a cure for my issue. From the start, Diane, RN made me feel comfortable. Her calming nature reassured me that I was going to be ok. Dr. Vassallo explained the different ways leakage happens and I felt sure after his thorough explanation that the procedure suggested would fix my problem. Although the test to confirm our hypothesis was uncomfortable, I feel it was needed to confirm my issue prior to surgery. The surgery was successful and to my amazement after 16 years with this problem, Im cured! My follow up appointments are complete and I can say, without a doubt, this embarrassing problem is gone and I am truly thankful to Dr. Vassallo and Diane for treating me with such compassion, dignity and professionalism.

Dr Vassallo is a wonderful doctor. I went to see him with a mesh issue I had from another doctor. He fixed the issue. He came in and talked to me before surgery and talked to my family while I was in recovery. He checked up on me when I was in the 2nd recovery room and came back to check again before he left the hospital. He called me the next day to make sure all was good. He was very friendly and kept me and my family well informed all the way.

I was dealing with severe prolapses which have been completely resolved. From my very first appointment with Dr. Vassallo until today (my 6 week post op), I have received nothing less than stellar treatment. Any concerns, even fears I may have had, were dealt with professionally, courteously and compassionately.

The hospital had an easy check in with wonderful people to assist me. The surgery went very well. The staff and doctors were very qualified and made me fill at ease. They talked through every procedure and answered all my questions. The nursing staff were very helpful since I spent one night after surgery. Discharge from the hospital the next day was also easy with the doctor and staff checking on me and making sure I was ready to go.

I would have to say what stands out and greatly exceeded my expectations was the feeling that everyone I encountered cared....from the moment I walked in to the building and someone pointed me in the right direction, to checking in, to asking too many insurance questions, to Dr Vassallo, to all the nurses.It also appeared that everyone liked their job. To me that is a sign that they know what they are doing. So, I was reassured.The office had a gentle, light-hearted vibe. Very calming.Everything was clearly spelled out as far as what was going to be done and, as far as I can tell, the recovery is going well.I was very impressed that I got a phone message from Dr Vassallo the day after returning home to see how I was feeling.On that note, I am going down for a nap.

My experience at Dr. Vassallos office was excellent. It was my first visit and I found the doctor and his staff met all my expectations. I was put at ease and all my many questions were answered. I would have not problem recommending Dr. Vassallo to my family and friends.Sandra Bootz

Dr. Vassallo did a pelvic floor surgery for me. I loved how warmly he greeted me just as the surgery was to begin, putting me at ease, and how he allowed me to listen to a healing CD (even though the nurse was not in favor). He always spends time with me in the office when I go in for a follow-up visit. He was equally good at explaining the whole surgical procedure (complete with diagrams) to my husband and me, helping me to make an informed decision.

I have already told friends and medical people how wonderful my experience was with Dr. Vassallo. He was very patient and respectful and I learned a lot about the nature of my bladder issues. I have begun my therapy at the Womens Physical Therapy Institute in Lake Zurich as he recommended. I have been very pleased with the therapist and the progress that I am making. My feelings about your practice is very positive because of Dr. Vassallo and your receptionist and the nurse that assisted Dr. Vassallo. I will give you the highest rating in all areas.

I found him to very arrogant in the way he talked to me and degraded my feeling, when i told him about my personal female issues. I waited months before i wrote this to see if my feeling would change about him but the havent! He said after 4 visits that there was nothing more he could do for me and had no ideas of where I should go for help next and with that he left the room. I found help in a women clinic in highland Park and would tell women to go their before ever going to see him.

Called Vassallo after my procedure because I was in excrutiatiating pain post procedure. I couldnt even get a full sentence out. Vassallo was so incredibly rude and dismissive. Treated me like I was seeking pain meds when I was asking for a steroid or something to reduce the pain caused by the lack of exercise he directed me to - even though I told him in my 2 week follow up visit that I need to exercise. He said --now isnt the time to be an exercise hero.-- This lack of exercise per his direction caused my bulging disc to reinjure due to not being able to continue core strength exercises. When I was in so much pain and couldnt even get out of bed, he told me it was --not his problem-- because he is --just the bladder doctor.-- He had zero concern about the pain I was going through and didnt ask any follow up questions to see how he could help or if he could help. It was simply --not his problem-- even though he caused the problem! Ladies, RUN - this guy is an arrogant know it all who only loves the sound of his own voice. This is not the only bad review for him either. Common thread is he doesnt listen and he is arrogant - and thats kind at best.

I wanted to inform possible patients to my problems with Dr. Vassallo. I did not feel like he listened well to my problems and was quick to diagnose. Hopeful that he was right I began treatment. I initially visited his Park Ridge office but he told me the Aurora location would be much closer to my home; therefore more convenient. I had my next 4 treatments in Aurora and then notified of my bill. Because this office is through Rush Copley my bill was substantially higher. $40 copay at Park Ridge compared to $483 at Aurora. Explained it because the nurses are Rush Copley employees. Dr Vassallo never mentioned this difference in office to me - just that it would be more convenient to go to Aurora. I find this very unethical and have reported him. Be careful if you go to the --office-- to make sure insurance is covered. It is not a convenient --satellite-- office!

Bedside manner for my follow up post-surgical, was horrific! I didn’t follow rules to a T so I was scolded as Dr. Vassallo had a hand on his hip and his index finger pretty much in my face while he yelled at me. Left the office quite upset- will not return again.

Two years ago I underwent an extensive gynecological procedure. The day following the surgery he attempted to wean me from the pain pump. My pain was extremely severe and he would not permit me to go back on the pump. It took 10 hours of severe pain before I was placed back on the pump and that was because I had to get the hospital pain clinic to help me. He would not order it. That is not the worst part. He completely falsified my medical records. He wrote in the records that I was a chronic pain patient and had to be admitted several times to the hospital for pain control and anxiety related conditions. I turned him in to every professional regulation board I could find but because he did not cause me permanent harm they would not sanction him. Telling lies in the records was not enough. I do not know why he lied except he knew he was wrong in not providing appropriate pain care and perhaps was trying to find a reason. I am an RN and I have never been admitted ot the hospital for pain control or anxiety nor do I have any medicatins to manage these conditions.

"I would leave a zero star review if I could. Vassallo does NOT listen to the patient, regularly interrupts when you’re trying to explain how you’re feeling or what your needs are. He is more interested in hearing himself speak than he is with listening to the patient and genuinely caring enough to help find a solution. Vassallos way or the highway. Trust me when I say take the highway. I deeply regret ..."

Severe , chronic pain after hysterectomy, rectocele repair and TVT sling insertion. Dr. Vassallo continually denied that anything could be wrong and I finally found out from another MD I had nerve damage from the surgery. If he would have taken me seriously immediately post op and admitted something obviously went wrong during the surgery, the permanent damage could have been avoided and possibly reversed. I am disabled and have been suffering from terrible pelvic/vaginal pain for 5 years now. Have had multiple treatments and other surgeries to reverse pain; to no avail. Would never recommend him as a surgeon. And DO NOT have a bladder sling implant.
