Gyn suggested I see a urologist because of bladder leak. Dr. DeCastro was so complete that he said --Lets get a CT scan of your kidneys--. And there it was. without any foreknowledge, a cancerous tumor. He called me at home the moment he got the results and I was in surgery the next morning for biopsies and a stint. My kidney was almost defunct. If it werent for his out of the box thinking, I would have continued living with a bad kidney/tumor. I have back problems so never identified the kidney as such but thought all my back pain was just that. As I write this, I am awaiting surgery for removal of the kidney and the ureter with the tumor in it. Im so grateful I went to him. He is so personable and explains things completely. I asked if he minded if I got a second opinion about the surgery and he encouraged me to do so. I did and the diagnosis was the same. Hes great and his staff is awesome from the receptionist to the Drs nurse. No complaints here whatsoever.

Dr. DeCastro is a great doctor. He explains everything in a way that is easy to understand and puts the patient at ease. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I cannot express enough how wonderful, thorough, professional, kind, and caring I found Dr. DeCastro to be. I would highly recommend him. He has seen me through a very difficult illness and I find myself well on the way to recovery. I especially appreciated the time he spent with my procedures and explaining them thoroughly as we went along. I found his staff to be just as thorough and caring as the Doctor. I wish all doctors were like Dr. DeCastro!!!!!

I was transported to emergency with significant threat to life and function due to very large kidney stones stuck in my ureter for some time and was the doctors first patient in Warrenton. His explanation of general anesthesia and the insert of a stent was so complete that my reiterated understanding requested by emergency nurses was perfect. Lithotripsy and endoscope surgery, scheduled 3 weeks later, was explained in detail and became a 100% success after a follow-up renal ultra sound showed a kidney cleared of all stones.

We chose Dr. Castro because the doctor we were referred to couldnt get us in till the next day and my husband was in pain. We were able to get in the say day and the Dr. was really knowledgeable. We were sent to get a CT Scan so we went to Heathcote Hospital in Haymarket and got the scan the next day. Requested a CD for the doctor and immediately took it to the office. The didnt tell us that Dr. DeCastro wouldnt be in the Warrenton office till next Wednesday and the receptionist said she would take it to the office the next day so we didnt have to wait. Here it is Monday and no one knows where the CD of the CT scan is. As of right now, I have a husband in pain and no answers. Its very frustrating to see someone in pain and no answers.

Staff: Adequate, efficient enough , polite and business like. Punctually: May have been luck, but excluding time filling out first visit forms, from waiting room to appearance of doctor in exam room was LESS than 10 minutes. Helpfulness: Professional and personable. Fully and understandably explained all issues involved in a straightforward and honest manner, answering questions and solicited others I might have. He responded directly to my request for his opinions on ways to proceed, providing several options for me to decide on. Knowledge: Obviously experienced and familiar with his medical speciality and the most current treatments and procedures. A good first contact and I will continue to use him unless and until disappointed, which I do not expect.

Saw Dr De Castro for a kidney stones. He had seen my cat scan and before my morning appointment had already made arrangements for same day surgery. He personally called me on a Sundays to give me lab reports and change my antibiotic because of the results. I highly recommend Dr De Castro and Fauquier is lucky to have him.

4 months ago Dr DeCastro was supposed to call me about a procedure. Despite 8 telephone calls to him and his nurse...no response. Unacceptable in my opinion.

At first I made special payment arrangements with the Manager, they were not met. Then I met with the doctor. I ended up needing to drop off a specimen to the doctor and --he-- was supposed to get back to me to discuss what he found. He did not call me at all and a month had passed with no response. I even called and left a message to have him call me back. Not long after I started to get a bunch of bills for Lab visits to his office on a date that I did not go. I called and found out he sent the specimen out without my permission and had not called me at all to even warn me that he was going to do so. Top that off, the results had been back a while and I was not even called. All of my contact information was correct in their system and they just had not called me at all. By far the worst office I have visited and the most disorganised! If you could go somewhere else I would.
