Dr. Bischoff is an excellent physician and surgeon. I recently underwent radical prostatectomy. As with most men, I was very concerned with the potential risks associated with the procedure, including urinary incontinence. Despite these concerns, I trusted Dr. Bischoffs knowledge and ability based on his education and having conducted this surgery numerous times. I prepared myself as best I could on what to expect. The surgery went well, and I was discharged from the hospital the following day. What I was not prepared for was to have NO urinary incontinence post procedure. This is the amazing truth. I consider myself lucky, but in actuality, I owe much of my thanks to the precise, careful technique of the surgeon. Aside from speaking to Dr. Bischoffs abilities as a surgeon, he is also a compassionate physician and kind person. I am sure most, if not all patients, have experienced the rushed doctor visit. Dealing with the knowledge of having cancer alone is unnerving, and coupling that emotion with unanswered questions can unravel a person. However, Dr. Bischoff respected our time and fears, and consequently, we were able to get many of our concerns and questions addressed so that I felt comfortable and knowledgeable going into surgery. Furthermore, he was patient with my large family and all of their questions pre and post procedure. Thank you Dr. Bischoff. I respect you tremendously for being a skillful surgeon and a caring, effective physician.

After seeing 3 other urologists in Austin, who were trying to treat an infected kidney, my husband saw Dr. Bishoff. There was debate as to whether ii should be removed because it would be a difficult surgery. No other doctor gave us the encouragement to do what needed to be done. Dr. Bishoff was confident without being cocky and he removed the kidney. He listened to our concerns and addressed them. He was prepared for any complication and was friendly and supportive during a difficult time. He is simply the best.

Being told that you have prostate cancer is devastating. Even when the prognosis is good, you begin thinking that every aspect of your future treatment is going to impact how well you survive this. While my own Urologist recommended Dr. Bischoff as a member of his practice, I also have an association with a doctor from another practice who is treating my hemochromatosis. His firm has plenty of excellent prostate surgeons, but when I asked him for a blind reference, Carl Bischoff was his first response! Good enough for me...and I am glad. Bischoff did a great job of prepping me, informing me, and making me feel comfortable in my faith that all will go well. He spent valued time with me, took his time, and explained to both me and my wife. He was not in a hurry, and spent far more time with me than I though he would. On surgery day, he was cool and calm and gave me a great sense of relief and confidence. Dont waste time with any other provider...Dr. Bischoff is the champ.

How comforting it is to know that medicine still exits. Appointment less than 24 hours after my initial phone call. Everything explained in simple terms, no surprise at my arrival this morning. Dr. Bischoff is the outmost courteous, direct-to-the point yet relax and humorous. This is my very first experience with this facility where every staff member I dealt with made me feel like a human not a number. I was even surprised by the honesty of the performed services.
