Ive been seeing Dr. Charles Kaplan and his staff for the last 2-3 years. They have always been extremely friendly to me from the time I walk in the door. I am comfortable to discuss my medical issues with the staff and Dr. Kaplan. I feel like Dr. Kaplan takes the time to listen to me and my concerns, and I have been given excellent medical care under Dr. Kaplan and his staff. If I have a concern about my treatment or medications, Dr. Kaplan listens to me and is willing to try another route of treatment. The amount of kidney stones I was producing had declined since seeing Dr. Kaplan. I feel he has me on an excellent plan of treatment, and I would highly recommend him to my friends, family and others. I already have! And I will continue to do so. If you are looking for an excellent doctor, Dr. Charles Kaplan is the best! As far as wait time in the office: there is only once or twice that I had to wait about 15 minutes. Most of the time you are in to see him pretty quick.

I was very impressed with Dr. Kaplan and his staff during our first visit. While I do not enjoy visiting Doctors offices, I must say everyone there put me at great ease, and Dr. Kaplan answered all of my questions, set forth a plan of action and assured me that together, we would tackle my health issue. You cant ask for more than that on a first visit.

I have been a cancer survivor for 19 years. I owe my survival to several specialists including Dr. Kaplan. I was referred to Dr. Kaplan by another fine Urologist based on Dr. Kaplans unique skills with urinary implants. Dr. Kaplan is highly skilled and an excellent communicator. His staff is great. I trust him with my life and would recommend him to anyone.

New patient with a concern about a kidney. I was worked in that day and was able to go to another location to meet the doctor. He addressed my concerns and set me up for a MRI. Will know more after the MRI is done.

Well first off Dr. Kaplan is a very smart quick thinking MD. I had been to maybe 3 urologists with the same problem over a span of 7yrs and he was able to solve it in 3 office visits.

Dr Kaplan gave me an extended life. He suggested and installed an artificial sphincter after an unsatisfactory experience with a previous urologist. He explained the procedure fully and it turned out as he had explained. I went from using 16 pads per 24 hours to one as a precaution. The previous doctor didnt even make this procedure known. I cant thank Dr Kaplan enough.

Ga urologists did emergency surgery on me when I had no insurance and a 9mm oxilate stone not to mention that I also was septic. They put in a stint and took care of me at the hospital. 4 mos later I needed stint removed and once again they took care of me. They also when no one else would help me and did shockwave lithotripsy to remove the stone. They really saved my life. They care and I mean really care about people. Everyone else I called literally hung up on me or wouldnt even give me the time of day. Very few Drs out there that care as much.

Dr. Kaplan and his entire staff are very pleasant and professional. I have been a patient of his for 12 years, have had several surgeries from him, and have no complaints. I would recommend him for any urology problems.

He just want to get a urine sample, to put you off until the next visit.

The staff doesnt give the information you need. Found that he doesnt not believe in the patient without undeniable proof.

Had a 3:30 appt but arrived at 3:32. Clerk’s first comment was I was supposed to come in early to complete paperwork and she told me to hold on so she could check to see if the PA Cathy could still see me. I waited, hoping I would still get the visit as I was in pain. When she returned I was granted the grace to still see the PA, but when “Bea” called me back to leave a specimen, she greeted me with “You are late and she (the PA) had almost left.” I replied back my first thought, “then I guess I would have to find another dr.” I thought surely the PA would have more manners. When PA Cathy (or nurse practitioner?) came in I quickly let her know that if I had inconvenienced her schedule, I didn’t mind leaving and rescheduling if she needed me to do so. She told me it was up to me. I told her It was her decision as I did not want to hold her up. She told me it was just that in the afternoons she had to go to the hospital but since we were in the examining room we might as well do the exam. Needless to say, I won’t go back to this office. I read Dr. K’s reviews online and I chose this office because of them. I did not get to see him. I would like to tell him how rude his staff was. But I don’t blame him. Unfortunately, because of their rudeness, Georgia Urology lost a customer. I looked for hidden cameras, I thought I was being plunked. I literally went to my car and cried.

I have waited to leave this review until my medical situation calmed down. I had never been treated like this by a professional before. I saw Dr Kaplan at the Woodstock location of GA Urology in May and June of 2019. I was referred by PCP for a prostate biopsy.
I had the first appointment with the doctor in May. He seemed disengaged but as long as he knew his stuff, that was all I cared. I went in for the biopsy early June. After the procedure started, it was obvious to me the local anesthesia had not worked. I said something to the doctor about the pain but instead of listening to what I said, he told me I was just feeling pressure. He ignored the total body sweat I immediately was having and argued with me about what I felt. He made it seem like I was slowing down his manufacturing line and it was a huge problem to redo the anesthesia. Since I was not in a negotiating position, I told him to get the biopsy without anesthesia working. The doctor's arrogance and uncaring attitude was shocking.
I would strongly discourage anyone from using this "doctor".
I will say the GA Urology Woodstock office handled the situation extremely well. I called in to the office manager and let her know the situation. She apologized for what happend and asked me to set up my findings appointment. I let her know I would not be coming in to meet with Dr Kaplan again and pay him another cent. I would rather hear the results from my PCP. She knew my results, which were not good and offered a no charge visit if I met with Kaplan. I agreed. Dr Kaplan was not rude in the findings visit but he for sure acted like he couldn't care less what happened to me.
I see several positive reviews for this doctor since I saw him in June 2019. I hope the office manager set him straight on who was the customer and how customers should be treated but I would never allow anyone I know to see him.

Dr. Kaplan does not care about a patients health, he is only interested in the insurance money,he took a urine test from me, I was informed by one of his office staff several days later, my urine test came out o.k.and my kidneys are functioning normal. I made an appointment with another doctor, and I was informed after a urine test I had an infection, and my kidneys are not functioning normal. The other doctor prescribed medicine to clear up the infection, also prescribed medicine to stabilize my kidney functions. I absolutely will not recommend this doctor.

Dr Kaplan gets a 1 while his staff gets 5. He is the worst Dr have seen. I have waited to leave this review until my medical situation calmed down. Vasectomy in 2012. Dr Kaplan stated the chance of long term pain was 1 in 1000. I returned within two weeks when I was still in pain and a disinterested Dr Kaplan told me to go home and take painkillers - it was clearly a “go away” visit. The pain continued until month three when it became so bad I could not walk. I went to a different urologist who told me the chance of long term pain was 1 in 50, and he couldn’t understand why Dr Kaplan had lied to me. So began two years and three additional surgeries to relieve pain. I’m still in pain today and will be for the rest of my life. Dr Kaplan lied to me about the surgical risks and then was disinterested in caring for me when I needed help.

The worst, most uncomfortable doctors appointment ever. You receive no meds for pain before procedure. Will not go back.

After some testing I was diagnosed with kidney stones and referred to another doctor on the Georgia Urology team. That doctor was not available so I opted to see Dr. Kaplan who had an opening in his schedule. It was determined that I would need lithotripsy to break up the stones. At my pre-op appointment Dr. Kaplan blew off my questions about having a stent inserted (which was part of the information provided in the medical release) during the procedure. He said that one of my stones was large and it was likely that I would need another procedure so there was no need for a stent. He did not seem invested in my care. My care included the initial procedure, followed by two more hospital stays, one for pain and the other for a follow-up procedure. Dr. Kaplan failed miserably at attentiveness and explaining procedures. I would never recommend Dr. Kaplan or Georgia Urology to anyone.
