"I met Dr. Whelan when I required emergency treatment of a kidney stone that had blocked the urine flow from kidney to bladder. (I waited too long and almost caused permanent damage to my kidney.) He provided explanation of what was going to happen each step of the way. He was kind, thorough, knowledgeable, and never condescending. I met Dr. Whelan when I required emergency treatment of a kidney stone that had blocked the urine flow from kidney to bladder. (I waited too long and almost caused permanent damage to my kidney.) He provided explanation of what was going to happen each step of the way. He was kind, thorough, knowledgeable, and never condescending. Its been a year since I have had the Turp Surgery Dr. Whelan recommended. It was quite a horrible ordeal w/ allot of pain, scaring & aggravation. Matter of fact, I just finished catherizing & thought I would write this e/mail. I was told by the good Doctor that I should be good for urinating freely until I was 80. I am currently 62 & the urinating freely lasted about 3 months. I I were anyone considering Turp Surgery from Dr. Whelan I would definitely get a 2nd. opinion!
