Love the doctor, but all three occassions visiting the office I found the office staff abrasive and rude and lacks tact...especially the older lady who is the office manager..she is enough to make me never want to go back. She cannot find fault anything that she does even when it is clearly her clerical error. if you can stand to deal with lack of prfessionalism of the staff you will be fine, cause the doctor is great.

Dr Cahoon did my vasectomy. Setting up the apt was easy and convenient. The procedure was quick and relatively painless. My recovery was rapid with no complications. I highly recommend him

I originally saw this doctor for myself and although my experience was "fine" I did witness horrible customer service for another patient and his care giver while I was waiting. The staff just isn't fridndly and honestly can be sooo rude. A couple years later I found myself back at the office for one of my children. The appointment was scheduled by our family doctor. Long story short the reason my general doc scheduled the appointment with dr. Cahoon was because they were able to get my son scheduled within a few days and my doctor felt that my son's situation was somewhat urgent. When I showed up a few days later they had my appointment scheduled for a month later. It was understandable that a scheduling error on their side likely happened but the way I was treated by the office manager lady was aweful to say the least!!!!! She was above rude. So as I stood there frazzled from my treatment I tried to explain why I needed the appointment to be earlier. She then basically diagnosed my son's condition and told me that we (my doctor and I are being ridiculous). I left and seriously felt beat up. But...it gets worse...she called me later at my home to tell me that she spoke to dr. Cahoon and her diagnosis was correct...still up for a beating I guess i explained that regardless if she felt my appointment could wait a month after I spoke with my doctors nurse I was convinced that the scheduling error was indeed their mistake. Honestly, I was just wanting a simple I am sorry if that was the case...instead I got 30 minutes of her yelling at me...yes yelling...I finally said please cancel my appointment I am finding another doctor and hung up. She called back and told me how rude I had been to confront her with the appointment error which she still is insisting she didn't make and hanging up on her. So...although I think doctor Cahoon has it together I echo other reviews in that he needs to fire his staff. I would never ever recommend this office!

As for the Dr himself, I really liked him. He was polite and straight forward. I truly felt that he had my best interests in mind while discussing things and planning our course of action. When I arrived at the office, I waited under 10 minutes. His staff, on the other hand, leaves A LOT to be desired. If I could have left a negative rating number on the staff, I would have. His receptionist is rude, condescending and really has no business working with people. The nurse/person that took me to my room was just as bad. Not once did I receive a smile or anything that might be construed as politeness or friendliness from these two women. When I was finished and had to schedule another appointment, the receptionist made me wait 15 minutes even though I was there prior to anyone being on the incoming side of the desk. And sadly, she treated those people no better than she was treating me. Once my urgent course of action is taken care of, I will definitely be finding a different doctor. It is terribly sad that Dr. Cahoon allows these women he works with to drag his reputation down because they have no people skills. Sadly, I have to give him a low rating because you have to deal with the office in order to see him.

As far as doctors go, Cahoon was very nice and knowledgeable. As far as office staff goes, his front office reception/manager needs to be fired. She is not only very rude and unprofessional; she lacks any sense of compassion and has zero customer service skills. Would not recommend or return do to her alone...sad a doctor would allow a staff member to damage is reputation to the extent of losing patients.

Dr. Cahoon was over an hour late for a 9:30 appointment without so much as an apology his staff was rude and didn't even acknowledge you until you stood there for ten minutes. He made you feel like you were a waste of his time.

Don't waist your time with Dr. Cahoon. He is a total jerk!!!! I went in for repeat kidney stones. He had my records from 10 years ago and since they didn't show I have had a kidney stone then he didn't believe me that I have them now. I told him who has the correct records but he didn't seem to care. I am pregnant so the only test I could safely have done is an ultrasound which he refused to order. Any question I asked he shot back at me and said well now you are assuming you have kidney stones again. Well after having them enough I firmly believe I know when I have them. I also have one that is stuck and I can't get it to pass. He said well if it is one it will come out. It has been stuck for 2 weeks and I would like to have had a ultrasound to see if we can see it. I know they are not the best at seeing stones but I thought it would be a start. His bedside manner was so mean. He was a total jerk and smiled the whole time he was being one. He finished by telling me to keep taking the pain meds given by my family doctor and if I don't feel better in 2 months then he would do an ultrasound. Well I guarantee he will not be seeing me in 2 months. I will seek care elsewhere.

Dr. Cahoon is great. He's clearly skilled and knowledgable and he's a personable guy.
The office staff, however, always give the impression of a bunch of headless chickens running around. Ground Hog day: They call to reschedule, I get rescheduled, then rescheduled, then I approach the counter and am greeted by a secretary on a phone call who can't speak with me for five minutes, then I wait for almost two hours just to see the doctor, then they can't seem to get the insurance right, then they write down the wrong time for my procedure, later when I call I'm on hold for twenty minutes, then they transfer me to the wrong place only to transfer me back to the first place who has never even heard of my doctor, and on and on ... wait a minute! I thought this was 21st-Century USA, not cold war Kazakhstan.
The easiest part of the whole thing was getting the surgery. I can't wait until I never have to deal with these people again. I dread having to call them with a question or to get results, I'd rather just have another surgery.

I was called by a staff member she and said they checked "everything" and that I needed to bring in several hundred dollars for a simple precautionary prostate biopsy because my PSA had gone up slightly. I was hesitant at that cost, but I agreed. The staff member concluded the call with another verbal statement that they had 'checked everything'.
I went in paid the amount I was quoted. The biopsy was a newer but short, in-office procedure for the doctor. No complications. The results of the biopsy came out fine.
What did not come out fine... I received two more large invoices / charges totaling well over $1000. The staff member's quote call was very misleading. If I had been told there would be more costs afterwards from other entities I would have definitely asked more questions. If I had realized the true costs I would have absolutely waited until my PSA score was significantly higher before spending that much on a precautionary procedure.
I called accounting and asked what had happed. I shared that I had been told by the staff and that I had proof. I talked with the office manager on the phone after a few calls and told her I had proof of what the staff had told me. The office manager did not seem to care and said I had to paid it. I reminded her that I had proof. I said I needed to get this resolved and did not want to waste my time in court AND they needed to take a different approach when quoting people their costs. 'Be open and upfront' that it is NOT 'everything'. I refused to pay without going over their errors as I had requested.
They sent it to collections. I did not want to waste my time in court even thought I knew it would affect my my credit score some. My credit went from Excellent 836 to upper 700s which is still very good, and I am okay with that.
Honesty and openness is important in our business dealings AND employee competence.

I think this doctor stinks. Even if his patients pay as much as they can, his staff still sends them to collections, and too bad for you if you have a mild infection or cancer. If you are in the midst of treatment, you "better find another doctor" according to his receptionist.

VETERANS BEWARE!!!!!! Dr Cahoon is a snake. I drove 10 hours today because this man is in the VA community care network and Triwest in fact contracted with them. This man denied my insurance through the VA which was authorized through the VA and Triwest to pay for this procedure thru him, he then tried to get me to pay 4000 dollars cash to do the Job. So not only did he deny my insurance who he is contracted with but then wanted me to make a cash payment. Hmmmmm kinda sounds like insurance fraud. I have reported him to the VA and Triwest and they are conducting an investigation. Just looking out for all my veterans out there

By far The most unprofessional doctor I have ever visited. Not only did he ignore my concerns and symptoms, he refused to help! I went to his office because I was suffering from MULTIPLE kidney stones. I was able to pass one but not the others. This "Doctor" refused to believe I had any other kidney stones and refused to give me pain medicine to help ease the side effects. I hope someone's on Cahoon's staff reads this because I went to a different Doctors office where they confirmed I still had another kidney stone! Unprofessional, ignores symptoms, treats patients poorly and refuses to discuss other options. If I could have rated him zero stars I would ( especially under accurate diagnosis).

While in absolute pain, I obliged to have my renal ultrasound after a month because i wanted to prove my symptoms (That in addition to historical MRIs clearly show a congenital history. It doesn' take a genius to see such a pattern). I asked for a follow-up due to the pain of hydronephrosis and it was stated, "We haven't seen you in 1 month and the Doctor doesn't feel comfortable prescribing pain medicine." Beware if you need specialized help. I was told to see a "PCP and reschedule to see him and he'll make a decision then." Not happy and in intense pain. Please if you can, see someone else. I personally came in for a yearly exam and with this Doctor it's an absolute nightmare.

I am writing this review to inform anyone that is thinking of going there that Dr. Cahoon was very nice and likable but the front office staff and back office staff are very rude and unhelpful. I have had to make several calls to the office to get my records sent to another doctor for a second opinion. I am not real please with the offices lack of care and follow through and since that is whom most patients deal with the majority of the time BEWARE!!! He should fire them and start over with new staff.

I ended up seeing Dr Cahoon through an ER visit because of kidney stones. I had a surgery to remove those stones and ended up with stones in my other kidney as well. Needing to have another procedure to take care of the aspirational stones, I went to his office to discuss that procedure. He was leaving town and wanted to put the procedure off until he got back, at which time I had a foot surgery scheduled. I asked to schedule the procedure with his partner so I could get it done sooner. It took his office almost 10 days to ok that decision and only after me threatening to find another provider. I agree with the other reviews about the office staff. It never seemed like they were helpful. I had my final post-op appt. today. I waited over an hour before I saw Dr Cahoon and when he finally came in he stayed in the room for only 30 seconds telling me everything looked good and then he stood up as I started trying to ask questions. He answered the one I thought of asking quickly and then left. 30 SECONDS! Needless to say I will not be going back to this doctor or clinic.
