Dr. Kaplan is an excellent doctor! He spent a lot of time with me discussing my issues and helped to diagnose and treat my problems. He is very personable and intelligent!

Since the discovery of my prostate cancer Dr Kaplan has been has been a tremendous help to me and my family. Very thorough in every aspect, explaining all options even recommending other doctors with different treatments. Deciding to remove prostate with robotic surgery Dr. Kaplan was was very professional, caring and kind through the whole process and beyond. We as a family highly recommend Dr. Kaplan.

Dr. Kaplan is a great physician. He is very personable and was willing to spend a lot time with me. He was an excellent listener. His diagnosis as well as treatment has really helped to solve my issues. His office staff is also great- they helped me to get an appointment as soon as possible.

Im at a loss for words for what is written below. I have been seeing Dr. Kaplan for 2 years and have always had only the best of care by him and his staff. He is extremely thorough, knowledgeable, friendly and honest. I dont believe Ive ever had to wait an excessive amount of time past my appointment time. This man really cares about his patients. So wha if you have to wait 5 minutes past your time, The day may come when he has to explain something to you that may take a little more time. All I can say is he is worth the wait. And if you ever have surgery by him, as I did, youll find out what knowledge and caring are really about! Thank you Dr. Kplan.

Dr Kaplan has been a staple in my urology health experience professionalism and class are above reproach. He is kind and most friendly with bedside manor of a genuine and kind nature. He is not only my doctor I consider him my friend. I highly recommend him. His staff is also one of the most professional and helpful people I have ever met in the profession.

Went in for an appointment, had a bit of a wait (30 mins) however once I was roomed, a PA came in almost immediately and did what im assuming was a questionnaire type of interview. then the doctor came in and everything was discussed, he spent alot of time answering questions and didnt make me feel --stupid-- for asking basic questions.

This office staff not medical staff is terrible. Billed my personal insurance and it was to be billed to the VA. I had to get an extension and never received the surgery. I am a veteran with PTSD and the staff got me so frustrated. They cause me to relapse. I cancelled my surgery looking for an new doctor .Good Doctor terrible staff.

I dont doubt Dr Kaplan is knowledgeable but his communication skills are terrible. I was under his care for recurrent kidney stones resulting from a repaired congenital abnormality. During scheduled lithotripsy he ran in and out of the pre-op room I hardly remembered seeing him. He did not speak to my husband or myself after the procedure. We had no idea if it was successful or not, according to post-op imaging it was not. During follow up he brushed passed my concerns for his follow up procedure, didnt allow for my questions or concerns or even have an explanation as to the out come of the first procedure. I decided on a second opinion and picked up my records only to find an entire paragraph written describing how my questions were answered and how he explained the procedure and the necessity of it. I also found the operative report that explained that this was likely a --staged procedure-- due to the size of the stone. If someone had just TOLD me that and actually said the things written in the office note I likely would not have left the office in tears feeling like Id been beat down for not understanding. I cannot put my faith in a doctor that cannot take the time to understand my fears and concerns, or to answer any questions about surgical procedures. I would also like to add that the office sent my basic UA to the wrong laboratory resulting in a $1900 bill for a urinalysis. I have been waiting two weeks for a return call from the billing manager to try to get that straightened out.

I feel like I got screwed over at a car dealership. Vasectomy was ok – a bit more painful during than I expected. Like pulling a nerve from my head through my spine and out my scrotum. Hello - anesthesia? Anyway, with every bit of caution and preparation as I could think of, I called the office ahead of the procedure to understand what my cost would be. Ive gotten unexpected overages before and didnt want that to happen again. The providers and insurance are experts at the finger pointing game. Kaplans billing office called my insurance to determine my cost. Then called me back to say per my policy I was 100% covered. Zero patient responsibility. Oh, if that were only true. You probably know where this is going. Procedure happened. Then a month later I get a bill for 2 more things in addition to the procedure, they admitted are routine. Insurance says the code they provided for benefits approval was only the procedure. Provider office: “you signed the paper that said you agreed to pay for any additional items”. And there you go. By the nuts! Don’t sign that form. It’s a license to gouge you.

He told me twice on two different occasions to discontinue a drug I was not taking. Obviously did not read the chart. For the cystoscopy he used no anesthesia. I was shaking on the way back to the car. It was very painful. For the biopsy he did not wait for the anesthesia to take effect. The Urolift was very degrading with no respect of patient dignity. I was knocked out before or if I was draped. I had nurses wanting me to pee when the little fellow was dripping blood. The office has no concern for HIPPA. The staff raises their voices to speak to old men. I was asked a very personal question in front of another patient. I was scolded for using the restroom instead of the porta-potty in the --scary-- room as the staff calls it.

Terrible physician /incompetent staff at 27th Ave and 101 office. Dr. Kaplan is always 45min to 1 hour late. No compassion or empathy, inconsiderate, pushes surgery and frequent visits, does not provide treatment options. Spends minutes with you in the exam room and does not allow much time for you to ask questions. Staff screws up paperwork and pre-op. Would not recommend him to anyone!

Definitely would NOT recommend Dr. Kaplan. Always felt very rushed and it seemed like the Doctor felt almost --put out-- by me asking questions about my personal health. Every time I would get rushed through an appointment at his office (after waiting for more than an hour most times for just a rushed 5 - 10 min consultation with the Dr), they would almost always find an excuse as to why they needed to reschedule to have me come back in 2 - 3 wks later (even though I explained repeatedly that Im on a high-deductible insurance plan and can not afford such frequent visits to a --specialist-- unless absolutely necessary). Dr. Kaplan refused to ever release or even discuss any of my blood test results over the phone (in cases where my work travel schedule made it impossible for me to discuss during a follow-up visit). All in all, this left me with a very bad experience. Extremely unprofessional and makes me regret actually referring my own Father to see them for his kidney stone issues (I have since apologized to my father and suggested he go elsewhere since he has a similar story of a very poor experience and repeated office visits required before they could finally --get it right--. He is retired and on a fixed income, so this was also hurting him financially.

Spent very little time with me and jumped into recommending surgery. He is interested in doing procedures AND interesting enough they are done at a surgery center which I think he owns. Very very shady. After all of the trouble I still had to go see another urologist to get my problem fixed. Avoid at all costs....

Dr Kaplan did a cystoscopy on me using NO anesthetic (which, according to 10 different websites I checked is usually used) and the pain was excruciating! He had absolutely no concern for my pain whatsoever. Also, there was no concern for my modesty and privacy. I was made to undress in front of a female assistant, and two other assistants (one male, one female) stood and watched as the procedure was done, then watched as I was made to urinate into a bedside commode. When I went to pick up a prescription the office staff had sent to our local pharmacy, I learned it had also been submitted to my insurance company’s online pharmacy, so Wal-Mart couldn’t fill it. (this also happened with a previous prescription, so I had stressed to the office staff to make certain that this prescription went only to Wal-Mart and they assured me that was the case). When I went back to the doctor’s office to straighten this out, the lady at the front desk got very angry and defensive and said she did not send it to the insurance company. I will never go back to this doctor again.

This doctor has an extreme ego and should lose his medical license, consider retiring or find a new profession that does not involve people....even animals! He has an extreme anger and temper issue as can be read in previous reviews. He ignored the findings of my scan, ignored my chronic pain and would not refer anyone. He said that gynecologists deal with issues of the urethra, pelvic floor, bladder IC, UTIs, infections. I asked him repeatedly. I asked again about a urogyn since he is not one. He said he would need a cystoscopy. I told him that I had one less than a year ago and I could send the records over. He seemed shocked. He did not know that I recently had one. I explained again that my bladder was slightly inflamed. My CT Scan from him also came back okay. He told me he had absolutely no answers for me. This doctor is a narcissist and incompetent.

"Cystoscopy without anesthesia was excruciatingly painful. Patient dignity is not a emphasis in his practice. Being knocked out before/if I was properly draped for the urolift procedure was totally uncalled for. Prostate exam in the prison position-I had one doctor in 15 years do it in that position and I never returned to him."

we agreed to a new procedure for prostate. Being unfamiliar how it was done ,ended up he did a different procedure . More expensive and more invasive without my knowledge. But I trusted him and thought he had performed the procedure we had discussed beforehand.I was put to sleep and ended up with a catheter. Done at a surgicenter as opposed to an office procedure Had he done the one we discussed.., Oh I ended up at the hospital with blood infection,

One of the worst doctors ever . Treated the stone by --shocking-- it and kept saying its the best option; stone was still there after treatment and had to go to another urologist to get it treated. Only interested in doing procedures and tests. Horrible bedside manner and frankly mean. The PAs are nice though.
