Outstanding doctor in all aspects of the profession! I wish all of my doctors were like him. Not only is he very knowledgeable in his field but he has a great personality and I was able to ask questions without being rushed or feeling silly. Great asset to the Upstate Hospital and community. Now if I could only clone him.

Dr. Nikolavaky is refusing to even meet with my transgender wife. She is retired military, 100% disabled after serving her country in the Marines and Army, suffers from PTSD due to her military service, and also suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder. Apparently the --esteemed-- doctor is prejudiced against my wife because she has been in the VA psychiatric unit, trying to deal with her demons. This is totally unacceptable and unfair. Her life and well being, both physically and emotionally, depends on her getting her reassignment surgery. She is working with a psychiatrist, a socal worker who is helping her with DBT therapy, and she has a strong support network through the Syracuse VAMC, not to mention me, as her advocate. Still, Dr. Nikolavsky refuses to even meet with us, despite both of us and my wifes psychiatrist writing letters to him. He should be ashamed of himself.
