When I went to Dr. Karpman, I had been ruined by two previous surgeries -- prostate removal and the installation of a device to stop incontinence. For over two years, I was completely incontinent and in pain. Dr. Karpman corrected what the other doctors had done wrong and allowed me to be completely dry and sexually functional. It sounds dramatic but Dr. Karpman was a godsend who returned me to a very good quality of life. I will forever be grateful for Dr. Karpman.

This is the best surgeon . I had implant three months ago by dr Karpman,.His technique is absolutely the best, minimally invasive so thee weeks later I was able to have intercourse.I followed his Post Op instructions , so now I kept full size of my organ ,had No problem with orgazam , and now very happy. I did a lot of research before I went to dr Karpman and my choice was perfect. He is extremely talented surgeon and did great job on me. Will highly recommend him

The front desk is not always perky and cheerful, but who would be in a urology office. Dr. Karpman is an excellent surgeron and cares about your recovery for years afterward.

Once I get into actually see Dr. Karpman he spends all of the time I need. Asks a lot of good questions and will answer any of my questions. Unless I have the first appointment of the day, waits seem excessively long.Difficult to get Dr. Karpman to call me back when I have additional questions or concerns.

Ed Karpman is ALWAYS at least an hour late. He is arrogant. Never spent more then 5 min with my husband for 3 years. After karpman used every insurance $ he could squeeze out of them. He then suggest surgery. He said “don’t you want your husband to go from a zero to hero?” VERBATEM. After my husbands operation he came in the waiting room. Says nothing about how my husband is and whips out his cell phone to show me what a “awesome job I did”. What the? He is rude- condescending to people and arrogant. We had 3 other drs tell us that they had patients say the same. If you want to see his wonderful (NOT) mangled looking penis with the pump not correctly put in causing us to look for a dr. to correct. Don’t let ANY UROLOGIST tell you a pump that is floating around your body but that is NOT common as they all missed that part because the think pumped up. Anyway please let me want to see the final work of Edward karpman, you won’t find them on internet.

Dr Karpman was the urologist on call the evening my husband, a paraplegic was release from out patient surgery at El Camino Hospital He was not sent home with any pain medication so we called to office to see if they could call something into the pharmacy. Dr Karpmans response was that he is not a FXXXing secretary and for us to go to the emergency room. Doctors like this should not be practicing medicine.

In my case, this person prolonged my problem for over 3 years and I had a very bad experience here. His staff is unresponsive to my repeated polite requests, just like he is. I went to another urologist and my problem cleared up over a few weeks after following his advice.

AVOID this doctor. Terrible attitude, very arrogant, unprofessional and disrespectful. He is the kind of doctor who thinks his time is more important than yours. Allow me to explain... This doctor was referred though my network, and I looked up his reviews ahead of time, mostly positive. My wife and I have been looking forward to starting a family, and we wanted to seek some advice regarding fertility. I arrived at his admins front desk at 12:02 pm for my 12:00 pm appointment with my new patient paperwork already completed (I printed it out from their website). His administrative assistant had informed me to arrive 30 mins early only if I needed to complete the paperwork, and she said 12 pm is fine if I brought already completed (which I did). I noticed at the waiting room there were several patients ahead of me. As I sat in my seat, I watched a couple patients approach the front desk and inquire about why things were running behind. I heard --hes a very busy doctor-- and various comments that this was --normal-- for him. I realize and understand, even expect to wait a little bit of time in the waiting room, thats normal. But not over 70 minutes!! Thats how long it took until I was finally called into the the patient room in the back. After his assistant took my blood pressure, I then waited another 30 minutes until Edward Karpman finally arrived. As he entered the patient room, he asked me how I was doing. I responded, --not very well-- as I explained my appointment was at 12:00 pm and it was now 1:45 pm. Instead of apologizing he immediately got defensive and told me how I arrived late at 12:06 pm, instead of 11:30 to complete the new patient paperwork. I explained to him I had printed it out online in advance as instructed, and in fact arrived at 12:02 pm. He couldnt really argue with that any longer. Instead of apologizing for keeping me waiting, he rudely asked me if this is really how Id like to get our doctor-patient relationship started? I explained how I didnt think it was right for him to keep his patients waiting for so long. He continued being defensive and asked me if I had ever been to a doctor before? (Of course I have). He explained about having emergency appointments requiring priority, and claiming I would want the same priority if I had an emergency. (But given how the admins and patients were talking up front, it sounds like this is commonplace for this doctor). I explained how someone on his staff couldve called me to let me know hes running extremely behind schedule, and he defensively asked why didnt I call in to inquire? I responded that I didnt think I needed to (because thats not a normal thing a patient should have to do!), and he rudely told me that --oh nothing is ever your fault, nothing is every your responsibility.-- I told him thats simply irrational and he proceeded to end the visit, telling me that my co-pay would be refunded. I said thank you for wasting my time, to which he snapped back something very similar. AVOID him at all costs. Just because youre a doctor doesnt mean you get to act like youre above people.

Terrible first time experience. They asked me to arrive 30 minutes early to complete paperwork, then I waited for another hour before I asked how much longer it would be before I was taken back. They said another 30 minutes at least. I asked if this was normal and they said yes he often runs behind. Its a typical case of wanting to overbook their patients so they make more money, not caring at all that it send the message that their time is more important than mine. Theyre just greedy. I no other profession you would be fired if you habitually leave clients waiting for 1.5 hours. I dont trust a doctor that puts their monetary goals ahead of my wellbeing.
