I highly recommend Dr. Mitchnik for his services. He is a thoughtful, practical, and intelligent man. He recently treated me for Prostatitis, and performed a prostate biopsy. His strategy leading up to the biopsy was well thought out, and was the right plan, given my age, and the risk/reward associated with it. He ruled out other things before opting for the biopsy. I think he is well-qualified, and the fact that he is a real nice person, is an added (although not necessary) benefit.

Typical Specialist to be avoided. Does not manage pain at all - will not prescribe anything other than OTC, even though I was in extreme pain (9 on a 10 scale). Went back to ER after seeing him and was immediately given percocet. Ordered tests. Did not give me results - had to call on my own. Then his admin staff calls and says I need to come in for additional testing. Did not elaborate or tell me what the testing was. I researched and found out the doctor wanted to do a significant invasive procedure on me that has serious side effects and potential for missing work to recover. Also uses a specialty lab that is non par with most insurances. Make him write you a lab order and go to your own lab as opposed to having him do it in office. I do not recommend.
