One of the best Doctors I have ever had for explaining proceedures, etc. His changing partners & offices somewhat disconcerting. Was billed by another Doctor for reading test results, but it was corrected.

I saw Dr. Alexander when my prostate --locked down-- and I was unable to download urine. He was very attentive and caring and spent more than 1 hour caring for my problems. He even called me on the weekend to see how I was doing. He gave me flomax and treated my infection it was very efficacious. I followed up with his PA who was just as good. Crystal his MA was fantastic. I would not hesitate to see him again.

A patient for 10 years and couldnt be more satisfied with Dr. Alexanders care and treatment over that time. His manner with me as a patient instilled huge confidence in him as my surgeon. In my opinion, less than four stars in the promptness category is indicitive of a busy surgeon spending a little extra time communicating with his patients.

DR Alexander is 5* I have been his patient for over 15++ years. Always knowledge, excellent interpersonal action. I could not have found a better doctor. I referred a young man to him with kidney cancer and DR cured him. Dont believe the false reviews below. Always remember some people are never happy with anything, they are captain complainers.

Three years ago at 55 yrs of age, Dr. Alexander performed at full radical prostecomy to remove a cancerous tumor. I recovered quickly, and am very pleased to report that all anotomical parts are functioning well now as a healthy 58 year old Theres good reason why Dr. Alexander is rated as a Top Doc in Phoenix! In fact hes so good my I recommended Dr Alexander to my 91 year old Dad, who is now his patient.

I have seen Dr. Alexander several times, have always had a very good experience with him. Spends plenty of time with me, have sat in his personal office with him and gone over scheduling with him, nurse is great, receive calls to remind me of apointments. Great sence of humor.

Thanks to those (including my family doctor) whose positive reviews helped me choose this doctor. He performed a prostate biopsy. I found Dr. Alexander to be very skilled and professional. In addition, he is quite personable and takes time to explain and answer questions. If I ever needed surgery, I would definitely feel very comfortable with him doing my surgery.

After biopsy was positive I scheduled the Robot and checked in for the surgery. All went well. The worst part for me was the catheter...very painful. Contienence returned right away after one week. No other remarkable pain or complications. It has been 3 weeks. Not tried to have sex yet. He asked me to wait 4 weeks. I am 64 and expect to return to work after 4 weeks and restart my sex life which was 2x week B4 the surgery. More about this later.

Excellent doctor and staff. I have been seeing Dr. Alexander for over 5 years. Always attentive ans supportive. His handling of my high PSA readings, tests and Rxs have kept my enlarged prostate healthy and intact. Does seem rushed at times, but never to the extent that he does not answer all of my questions and concerns. Very good bedside manner, never arrogant or rude.

My dad had prostate removed by Dr. Alexander and I was having prostate issues. Dad recommended Dr. Alexander to me, and I have been nothing but good things to say about Dr. Alexander and his staff. Very professional and personable.

Dr. Alexander is a truly gifted physician. Hes accessible, friendly and patient. The only issues I have with his practice are his front-office staff. They are not always on top of things (scheduling follow-ups, calling to confirm appointments, etc.). Whether by coincidence or not, this only became apparent to me after he moved his practice to its current location, on Ironwood. Still, I recommend him highly. He wont let little things get swept under the rug.

I called the Ironwood square office today to ask what the office visit fee was for a self-pay, new patient. She said --between $200 and $400--. I said I just want to know the office visit portion of a self-pay, new patient exam, which would exclude any additional tests, etc. She then repeated --between $200 and $400--. I then explained I didnt want the dollar range, I wanted to know the exact amount of a self-pay, new patient exam. I asked her what the range was based on so I could determine what I would pay. She refused to tell me. She just replied --because that is how it is set up - between $200 and $400--. The tone of voice she was using was as if we were old enemies. She sounded extremely bothered and upset by my simple, reasonable question. I cant speak about the doctors here... I never made it that far. But I have to believe they are losing potential customers everyday if this type of behavior is the norm.

Saw Dr. Alexander after my original Dr. retired. I had a severe incontinence problem and went through a series of scopes and two surgeries. After several visits, mostly with aides he wanted me to do self catheterizations to keep the flow moving. He said to keep doing this daily which I have done now for over a year. I have heard nothing from him for 13 months, no follow-up or any other appointment, I was left on my own. Catheters can cause an infection and a follow-up appointment is certainly something that should have taken place but I guess he forgot all about me. Now my supply of catheters has stopped because he did not renew the prescription. It is time to see a concerning urologist.

Dr. Alexander is ok. Doesnt spend much time with me.

I am surprised to see the positive reviews of this physician. He has the worst case of --hand on the doorknob-- syndrome that Ive ever seen. Dr. Alexander tries to signal that he doesnt have much time to talk to the patient by continually getting up and moving toward the door while they are trying to ask questions. I have had three separate appointments with him. The first two appointments lasted approximately 15 seconds each and the last appointment lasted 2 minutes. So I am currently scheduled for a procedure, and, despite my best efforts, I have no (non-internet) information about the particulars of the procedure, side effects, etc. When Dr. Alexander DOES respond to questions, he treats the patient as if they have an IQ of 60. This doctor epitomizes what is wrong with medicine today -- he is arrogant, disinterested, and trying to cram as many patients as possible into each hour to maximize his own compensation.

One hand has no clue what other is doing. They made me schedule a 6 month follow up and had no clue why I was there. Rushed me into decisions. Surgeon dr. Woodruff didnt even allow me to ask questions about proceedures, etc. One appt. After surgery then you never hear from them again. Make you wait to long in waiting room and patient room then rush you out. Unfriendly front desk and errors on forms etc.

I spent most of my time with low level female medical assistants. No nurses here. Okay if you are female, could be uncomfortable if you are male. Doctor was very rushed.

Dr. Alexander has been my doctor for over 7 years. Early on I had a kidney stone, went to ER, he was in. Y hospital room by noon. Fantastic aftercare....HOWEVER, the practice has since merged & merged. I had another kidney stone three weeks ago, went to ER, they wont admit you for kidney stones. I was told to go home & call my Urologist. I called Dr. Alexander, I did not pass the kidney stone on my own & desperately needed to see him. Their front office people are absolutely the VERY WORST in the valley!! I was told he could see in about 3 1/2 months!!! I told the young twit, I need him to call me. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME! Had to go back to ER, they called Dr. Alexander, so the ER doctor got me admitted. Several hours later a strange doctor shows up in my room telling me - surgery planned for next day!!! Who are you?? Where is Dr. Alexander? He was across the street at his office!!! OMG! Thank God I passed the stone. Dr. Alexander NEVER CALLED ME! The Practice makes a patient feel like they are on a conveyor belt.. I changed doctors within the practice... that took about 3 weeks, both doctors. Just be informed & agree to the change. There is another chapter here..... when I finally saw the new Dr. I found out, to my surprise, I had a kidney stone in the other kidney! There will be more to this story.... well see just how it all plays out.

Dr. Alexander was my husband’s urologist. We first thought he had an enlarged prostate. He was catheterized since he could not go on his own. This started on Nov 30th 2020. He was admitted to hospital on Dec. 28th due to acute UTI. They did an abdominal CT & found two masses.A cystoscopy was performed Jan. 4th. I had consistently informed the office & dr. if my husbands rapidly declining physical and mental health. A biopsy was performed January 7th. Biopsy results were in on Jan. 15th. My husband was doing so bad I asked Dr. Alexander & office to give results instead of waiting for an appointment on Jan. 19th. My request was refused & other family members called to tell how seriously ill my husband was. On Jan. 19th my husband was in the ER and admitted. I cried for Dr. Alexander to keep our meeting but he would not do it without my husband, who was in the hospital suffering hallucinations, chronic pain, chronic itching and crying for help. The results were withheld until Wednesday, Jan. 20th. A rm sitter was assigned to my husband since he required 24 hour care. On Thursday, Jan 21st, it was decided to do inpatient hospice so he could have his first night without constant pain, hallucinations, agitation and tears. On Friday, Jan 22nd, my husband died. I never did hear from Dr. Alexander. A nurse practitioner gave me results over the phone. My husband could have been in hospice earlier and saved from going through additional days of suffering. Myself and our entire family could have been spared those days of heartache, helplessness and would have been able to see him pain free sooner. We could have been by his side those days and prepared ourselves for losing him. We only had hours with him before he passed. Dr. Alexander did not heed our pleas, showed no compassion or never even called. I pray no one goes through what we did. I would never recommend Dr. Alexander.

I consulted this Dr. due to incontinence after prostate surgery. After testing, which itself was an ordeal, he informed me that there was no surgical option which would eliminate my problem. Instead, he prescribed a medication which did absolutely nothing for me. He then prescribed a second medication which had the side effect of short term memory loss. I did not take it and sought out another Urologist who recommended a surgical option which solved my dilemma

Terrible bedside manner and explaining. Was very disappointed in him. Excellent surgeon but to me bedside manner so important. Changed doctors

Dr. seemed competent but was impossible to reach four weeks after surgery when symptoms recurred. Experience with staff very unpleasant. Communications system out of 19th century. Seem deliberately antagonistic and dont want to be disturbed by mere patients attitude..

Pt. Entered ER & hospital. Biopsy results were withheld by Dr. Alexander for 5 days, resulting in the delay of hospice & my husband suffering 24 hrs a day. A rm sitter was assigned to his rm until he moved to hospice. He entered on a Thursday night & died on Friday. Every dr tried to get the results upon him entering the ER.

Must have too many patients, so no time for me. Two appts re-scheduled/cancelled unilaterally, without even consulting with me first, near impossible to get thru and talk to a real person, forget Dr. Alexander. 2nd of two visits lasted a mere 5 min. yet I am dealing with advanced high risk prostate cancer...

Too hurried to listen to my whole history... I never even got to tell him why I was really there before he was off to next room...
