On my first visit with Dr. Wagenheim I told him I thought I might have Interstitial Cystitis. He said I was at the right place - he was the expert. He did several tests and had several suggestions of what I might have but said I definitely didnt have interstitial cystitis because he could not see it and I could not have endured the pain of the test if I had it. After having done all tests he declared my bladder to be in good condition and that I probably had Interstitial Cystitis. I told him that he had said I couldnt have that because he had checked for it. He said --oh yeah, well then I dont know whats wrong with you. Come back in 2 months.-- I said --you havent even told me if I should continue to take the meds you have prescribed.-- He said --it doesnt matter if you do or not - they are symptomatic--. I went to him for 5 mos. while enduring terrible pain. I came home after 5 mos. in the same terrible pain. I went to the internet and found out that there is no cure for interstitial cystitis - only home remedies. I did find out that I should not have been taking any of the meds he prescribed for me. I stopped the meds and started the home remedies. Today, after 3 mos. I have eliminated some of the pain and live with the rest. I am still in shock at his lack of concern and empathy for me and my humanity.
