I have read a lot about a lot of doctors and I have seen a lot of doctors over the years and for my kidney stones & I must say that Dr Hellerstein was the 1st to put it all together. yeah, he asked me 50+ questions, was on lap top typing away with my responses. after about 10 minutes, he looked up and then asked another 50 questions looking at me and engaged in conversation. These Q were the most intense drill down to core problem questions any Dr asked me in 40 + years. After my physical, he took out a paper and pen and list of foods and things i could do , others that I had better do or face another gout & stone attacks. He made some small talk & his phone or beeper went off a few time but he muted it. I did a whole day urine collection and blood other scan tests and finally I have a Dr who took the time to find out what was wrong with me and educate me - diet water, no more beer and dogs.

Looks like they use Computer medical record and it seems to take more time than I am used to, but they showed me pictures of my cat scan from the emergevny room and where my stone was before I passed it. he gave me home work and tests- urine and blood to do -and articles on kidney stones

I went to the emergency room with a urine infection and saw Dr Hellerstein in 2 days later. He changed my antibiotics and ordered a sonogram ultra that found a kidney stone. Thanks a lot !

The Doctor Is a very caring person. He also has a very well trained staff. On a 1 through 10 rating, he is definitely a 10.

The Doctor was direct in brief questions but actually listened to my answers. He listened to me. Clearly He was busy cause his beeper went off 2-3 times but he did NOT answer it- but listened to metook all the time to find out about my problem. Thanks

I found the doctor on the web with a Google search. We waited about 15 minutes and the time flew by. I read the most current magazines along with some for my wife and daughter who were with me. I had to look up a pill and there was a brand new 2012 PDR reference book for me in the waiting room. The doctors assistant called me into the room and she told my wife and daughter to come along too. That was so crucial and indeed comforting. I couldnt imagine how important that was. Nothing was better than the doctor asking me if I had anymore questions after I asked every question I or my family could think of. He told me to look in his web site for information and web links

Not only is Dr Hellerstein my competition, he is also my physician. He is an excellent surgeon and extremely intelligent. Our community is fortunate to have a group of very competent GU colleagues in West Palm Beach

I was a new arrival in Florida and in need of medical assistance. I was referred to Dr Hellerstein. My experience was extremely positive in a stressful situation. Dr Hellerstein is extremely knowledgeable in his specialty. He is very comprehensive and direct. He uses a variety of current technologies. His office and medical staff also provided a great customer experience. They are professional, efficient, considerate, and friendly. I do not hesitate to provide a 5 star review.

My urine was really a problem and it wasnt an infection. The doctor found it out within a few minutes of LISTENING to ME! turns out it was all my fault - my love of home brewed coffee! He said simply --what goes up must come down & What goes in must come ...-- I said, --out-- Whew! Thanks!

I just (September) had the worst pain in my life on my side & freaked out. It was worse than giving birth. My husband took me to the hospital and Dr Hellerstein saw me pretty fast. He was spot on, saw me in pain and sympathized with me saying that my kidney was only partly blocked and he gave me choices-go home on advil and pain pill (and flomax?) or come in for pain shots and a 75% passing on own or surgery (something about a tube and a laser). I took his advice, and went on to pass it at home in reasonable comfort later in the week. THANKS! to the Doctor.

The things I liked about the Dr was his thoroughness and directness. I mean there were a ton of papers to fill out- questions i had never been asked before or about - ever. not even my primary Dr. What was most memorable was that they were obvisuosly taking care a lot of patients- pretty busy. Some people were in a big hurry to get seen and get out. But I had already done that at an urgent care place. I want them to find out about me. I liked the visit and have a another one in 3 months to see how Im doing. also they have valet parking guys to park my car. As much as I dislike going to Doctors offices, this wasnt too bad. My wife and I have told our friends I wuold definitely choose him again

Dr. Hellerstein is knowledgeable but I would not see him again. He was very dismissive and disrespectful about my reproductive plans and suggested that I was likely incapable of making that decision without a partner, despite my protest that I have felt this way for over a decade. He took my medical condition as an opportunity to complain about Obamacare. While I agree with him, I feel this was very unprofessional. Im leaving him with a 2/4 rating because I respect his diagnosis but dont feel comfortable with him as my physician. Office was very clean and staff was professional and courteous. I ended up waiting approximately 20-25 minutes even being the only one in the waiting room.

I believe my experience is something that people need to be made aware of. Dr. Hellerstein should not act as if he is following a script like some call center tech support operator or handling items on a production line. He reads his list of questions that was on his laptop, may have been a tablet. He doesnt address any part of the Q&A form that you are required to fill out while waiting for your first visit with him. He should be both embarrassed and ashamed of his front office staff. Their attitudes and lack of professionalism. They act is if they are being inconvenienced by having to interact with you. Then they make it perfectly clear that they are doing you a favor by even talking to you. It is highly unlikely that I will ever visit him again and Im going to share my experience with everyone I know.

Did not introduce himself upon entering exam room, did not listen to patients concerns, did not address pertinent information, MD was curt, poor bedside manner, rushing patient out of exam room before all questions were addressed.

A horrific experience, I would not wish on my worst enemy.

Extremely rude. No tolerance to questions and really shouldnt be practicing. Witness arguments with the cardiologist in front of the family. He truly needs to stop practicing. His nurses agreed also.

Dr. Hellerstein was the on-call dr. and was called in for an emergency procedure. I can understand someone being short and matter of fact, but rude is intolerable. He never stopped and spoke but instead talked as he walked out the door and down the hall. Im not going to chase anyone doing this. The second day, he was in the room no more than 20 seconds and again spoke going out the door. The hospital staff present couldnt believe his behavior. Dr. Hellerstein needs to take a communication refresher class because he fails miserably. I dont know who would follow up with him outside the hospital based upon his behavior.

DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. THE WORST I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. NO ANALYSIS, CONFUSING DIRECTIONS, NO TIME. THE WORST

This Doctor is mentally ill. He is lacking bedside manners, will not even say hello when he walks into exam room, he curses like a sailor, if you dare ask a question hell make a sour face and then will walk out without any warning when he is through seeing you.

This man has no bedside manner. He is ugly inside and out. His staff is miserable working for him. Why did he ever become a doctor when he clearly wanted something else. I think he hates people. Rude, obnoxious and horrible. I am sorry that I ever met anyone like him in my life. Go to anyone else.

Please DO NOT go to this Dr. My family member was in the hospital at Good Samaritan and the minute he walked in the room, he began to use foul language and threw things around in the room. I was so alarmed that I asked the nurse to step out of the room before he performed the procedure (inserting catheter). I told the nurse that I was extremely uneasy with his behavior and mental state. I specifically told her that I was afraid that he would hurt my family member when performing the procedure. His comments to my family member were inappropriate and highly offensive. Unfortunately, as he was performing the procedure he punctured his bladder. They had to perform emergency abdomen surgery the following morning to close the puncture. He was placed on life support and subsequently passed away. I encourage you to stay away from Dr. Hellerstein!

My experience was very sub-par. His attitude was almost arrogant, there was no feeling of personal concern, he was extremely rushed, abrupt and the wait time was excessively long. The women at the desk were helpful.

Patient for 4 years. Called to make an appointment for a condition that needed an office visit. They told me the next appointment is in a month. I said I needed to get treatment in the next day or two. Im in pain. They said if its emergency go to the emergency room. Otherwise, no way to squeeze in to see the doctor. NOT THE FIRST TIME RUDE AND UNCARING. DO NOT USE.
